Water Board wants
to find drips
Star-Bulletin staff
The Board of Water Supply is urging consumers to check for and fix leaks during the 15th Annual Detect-A-Leak Week, today through Saturday.
More than 3,100 property leaks were detected last year, which equates to hundreds of millions of gallons of wasted water and money.
The water board will be offering free dye tablets to help check for toilet leaks at all satellite city halls and hardware stores throughout Oahu and at the BWS lobby at 630 S. Beretania St.
Single-family homeowners can sign up for a free home leak check by mailing in the entry form on Detect-A-Leak Week ads and flyers by March 12.
Forms are also available at www.boardofwatersupply.com .
For those who conduct their own leak inspection, call 748-5041 or go to the BWS Web site for free information on leak detection and conservation.
