The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Cyanotech leads
Cyanotech Corp. rose 4.7 percent to reach its highest level in five weeks to outpace nine other local stocks this week in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The Big Island producer of nutritional products closed yesterday at $1.35 to narrow its loss for the year to 6.3 percent.
Bank of Hawaii Corp., the worst performer so far this year with a 7.8 percent decline, had the second-best return as it rose 2.1 percent.
Maui Land & Pineapple Co. brought up the rear with a 3.6 percent decline to $45.43.
