Michigan man runs to
Great Aloha Run victory
James Lander, of Rochester, Mich., won yesterday's 21st Great Aloha Run by eight seconds.
Lender finished the 8.15-mile race from Aloha Tower to Aloha Stadium in 40 minutes, 47 seconds. Honolulu's William Ngeiich was second in 40:55, with Carl Rundell of Birmingham, Ala., third in 51:05.
Honolulu female runners swept the top three places, led by Sayuri Kusutani in 58:38. Nina Christensen was second at 48:50 and Jeannine Wokasch took third in 51:07.
