Bonny Doon dinnerRoy's Hawaii Kai hosts a dinner with Randall Graham of Bonny Dooon Vineyards, 6:30 p.m. March 1.The menu: Japanese Hamachi Sashimi (with Erbaluce di Caluso "La Funambola" 2003), Maine Lobster Gratin (Le Cigare Blanc 2003), Diver Scallop & Foie Gras Salad, (Bouteille Call), Rack of Lamb Medallions (Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato "La Donna Cannone" 2003), Petite Veal Osso Bucco & King Crab (Old Telegram" 2002), Peaches & Cream Pouches (Viognier Doux 2003). Kaiseki comebackChef Hiroshi Fukui brings his contemporary kaiseki dinner to his new restaurant, Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas in Restaurant Row.The dinners were Fukui's signature at his previous restuarant, L'Uraku, featuring local produce in traditional Japanese dishes. His first Restaurant Row kaiseki will be March 4 and will include eight courses -- with wine pairings. A sampling of the menu: "Truffled" Tamago (with Portuguese sausage and foie gras) Aonori-Crusted Big Island Kanpachi, Veal Rollotini and Konbu-Cured Moi Nigiri. Cost is $88, $68 without wine. Wine showcasePadovani's is offering Friday night wine tastings at the Wine Bar. All events start at 6 p.m. Call 946-3456.Feb. 25: Oregon pinot noir from Adelsheim, Archery Summit, Beaux Freres, Cristom and Firesteed. March 4: Southern Rhone-style wines from Napa (Joseph Phelps Le Mistral), Santa Cruz (Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant) and Australia (Grant Burge Holy Trinity and Rosemount Estate), as well as Domaine Pallieres Gigondas from Southern Rhone. March 11: 2002 wines from Burgundy, including Bouchard and Vincent Girardin. March 18: California chardonnays from Kistler, Kongsgaard and Peter Michael. March 25: California zinfandels. Padovani's Restaurant will host a four-course Big Chardonnay Dinner on March 19. Chef Pierre Padovani's menu: Seafood Bisque (with Kistler Chardonnay), followed by Beggar's Purse of Dungeness Crab in Avocado Sauce (2000 Kongsgaard) and entrŽe choice of Salmon Confit or Moi in Lemongrass Broth (Peter Michael Chardonnay). Cost is $115; $88 with half-glasses of wines; $60 without wine.
