GREAT SHOW, BILL!: Ukulele virtuoso Bill Tapia, third from left, relaxed backstage between sets with band members Byron Yasui, left, Noel Okimoto, Benny Chong, Lyle Ritz and Scott Villager during his sold out concert at the Paliku Theatre on Saturday. Tapia, 97, featured songs from his newly released album, "Duke of Uke," during the two-hour, 30-minute show, and entertained the crowd with some of his favorite stories about growing up in Hawaii and playing music on the mainland. From Tapia's whimsical rendition of "Little Grass Shack" to his encore performance of "The Lady is a Tramp" it was an excellent show. Tapia also allowed his celebrity musicians ample space --an ukulele duet by Chong and Yasui, and Ritz's solo on "Mack The Knife" were two of the highlights. More than 200 people were turned away.

"HEAL THE HEARTS" BALL AT OCEAN CLUB: An afternoon downpour didn't dampen the spirits of the capacity crowd that filled the Ocean Club as family law specialists Grey Frey, left, and Brad Coates, center, celebrated Valentine's Day by hosting their 6th annual "Heal the Hearts" Valentine's Day Ball at the Ocean Club on Feb. 11. Frey and his wife, Mia, second from left, wore matching black outfits, Brad and Sachi Coates, sixth from left, went with different shades of blue. Joy Higaki, Taizo Coates and David Hayakawa helped get the party started.

CHECKING IN WITH THE CONSTITUENTS: Hawaii State Reps. Kyle Yamashita, left, and Ryan Yamane talked with Lisa Valenzon and Aimee Vallente during the Coates & Frey "Heal the Hearts" Valentine's Day Ball. Partiers who arrived fashionably on time received Valentines-theme necklaces and enjoyed two different heavy pupu buffets. Guests were also given commemorative "Heal the Hearts" first aid kits.

ALOHA, MARCUS!: NFL Hall of Famer Marcus Allen was among the guests at the "Do You Feel Sexy?" lingerie fashion show and champagne party thrown by Philana Bouvier, right, in Portlock on Saturday. Allen and galpal Ruthanne Gibson, second from left, watched the fashion show from a discreet distance. Heather Colletto also helped make sure Allen felt at home.

STARS OF THE SHOW: Philana Bouvier, right, congratulated models Chenoa Salmon, left, and Briana Spogniolo on a job well done in modeling imported items from Lulu Lackey Inc., at her "Do You Feel Sexy?" lingerie fashion show and champagne party. The audience appeared almost equally split between women buying for themselves and men making last-minute purchases for Valentine's Day. Charlie Longhi, Dawn Marie, Marti Hazzard and Mel Cambra were among the partiers. Bouvier's bartender, Jennifer "Rockstar" Keane, went through a case of Prosecco champagne and a comparable amount of martinis and other beverages. A buffet from Formaggio's was the final touch to a perfect party.
