Warriors sweepHawaii hammers Stanford,

Conversely, the Warriors weren't fooled often by the Cardinal offense. Hawaii had as many blocks in the sweep as they did in five games Thursday.
"They made good adjustments from last night," Hansen said. "They've got some big blockers and that's the advantage of playing a team on back-to-back nights.
"That's what we need to learn to do, make the adjustment. We need to find that mental toughness."
Focus was the key, according to Beckwith.
"The biggest adjustment individually for me was to keep the mental focus and not dwell on mistakes," he said. "Tonight, we kept going on play after play. Between Games 2 and 3, it was, 'Don't let down.' They proved last night they could come back.
"Tonight, this match was up to us, whether we wanted to beat ourselves. We showed that the little break doesn't matter."
Much like Thursday, the teams were even early in Games 1 and 2 before Hawaii again pulled away.
The Cardinal got as close as 27-21 before the Warriors stuffed David Vogel twice. Ben Reddy's hitting error ended it.
It took a while for Hawaii to subdue the Stanford threat in Game 2. Azenha's 10th kill broke a 21-21 deadlock and the Warriors then used a 5-1 spurt to take control at 27-25.
Bender and Dante blocked William Clayton to give Hawaii a 2-0 lead going into the locker room. Unlike Thursday, the Cardinal would not rally. Hawaii dominated.
The Warriors broke away from a 6-6 tie with seven straight points. Azenha served for another four as Hawaii jumped out to an 18-7 lead.
It was 22-12 before Stanford decided it would not suffer its worst single-game defeat of the season. The Cardinal had scored just 16 in a loss to Cal State Northridge; they used an 8-3 run to get it to 25-20.
They'd get no closer.
Craig Buell led Stanford with nine kills.
Thomas gone: Hawaii coach Mike Wilton said that he spoke with senior middle blocker Delano Thomas yesterday and confirmed that the All-American is no longer in school.
Thomas had been sitting out this semester to make up academics from the fall. The 6-foot-8 Thomas has a redshirt year but would have to make enough progress toward a degree this summer in order to return next season.
Wilton said that the U.S. national team has an interest in Thomas and that may be where his volleyball career continues.
