list of nominees
to 2 state courts

A high-profile Honolulu deputy prosecutor and the state human resources director are included in two lists of six judicial nominees for state circuit court judgeships that have been released by Gov. Linda Lingle.
The nominees selected will fill the posts previously held by Sandra Simms for the Oahu circuit and Clifford Nakea for the Kauai circuit court.
The lists were forwarded to Lingle by the Judicial Selection Commission. Lingle has 30 days to make her decision.
The nominees for the Oahu First Circuit are:
» Colette Y. Garibaldi, a district court judge, First Circuit, and former deputy prosecuting attorney.
» Leslie Ann Hayashi, a district court judge, former executive director of Hawaii Lawyers Care and former partner at Rush Moore Craven Kim & Stricklin.
» James H. Hershey, a partner at Fukunaga Matayoshi Hershey & Ching and an adjunct professor at Kapiolani Community College Paralegal Program.
» Dale W. Lee, a partner with Kobayashi Sugita & Goda, former Hawaii Bar Association president and former deputy prosecuting attorney.
» Randal K.O. Lee, deputy prosecutor who has headed the ongoing investigation into illegal campaign donations.
» Lori Hideyo Wada, a deputy prosecuting attorney.
The nominees for the Kauai Fifth Circuit include:
» Edmund D. Acoba, deputy public defender.
» Alfred Barut Castillo Jr., an attorney in private practice and former first deputy prosecuting attorney.
» Max W.J. Graham Jr., a partner with Belles Graham Proudfoot & Wilson and a per-diem judge, District Family Court on Kauai.
» Calvin Ken Murashige, a district court judge and former partner with Shiraishi & Murashige.
» Trudy Kazue Tanigawa Senda, a Kauai district court judge.
» Kathleen Naomi Aqui Watanabe, director of the state Department of Human Resources Development and a former per-diem judge, supervising deputy attorney general.
