WELCOME BACK, KARRIN: Jimmy Borges, left, congratulated Karrin Allyson and her drummer, Todd Strait, after her afternoon concert at the Honolulu Academy of Arts on Saturday. Jazz fans who braved the rain were rewarded with a beautiful performance. Allyson featured songs from her current album, "Wild For You," but answered audience requests for older favorites too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIET!: Juliet Lighter, seated left, celebrated her birthday with a party for about 100 at Panya Ala Moana on Sunday. Well-wishers included Russell Tanoue, left, Jason Ulep, Matt Wright, Liana Green, Alan Arato (seated), Jordan Segundo and Malia Song. Honolulu City Council Chairman Donovan Dela Cruz, and State Representatives Jerry L. Chang and Jon Riki Karamatsu, enjoyed the festivities as well. Lighter dressed for the occasion in a custom-cut Chelsea Gines top worn over a white tube top. Among her favorite presents were a big bottle of Belvedere vodka and a framed copy of the poster for her upcoming indie movie, "Soul Saviour."

OCEAN VIBE: Adam Jung talked with Jasmine Cruz at the Ocean Club on Saturday. It was the first Piranha Room party of 2005, and Cruz and her galpals Theresa Yu, Daye Minehira and Jaime Layosa had such a good time that they stayed well past midnight. Jung left earlier than Cruz and her friends, but Mike Cordeiro, Joanne Shin, Kimo Tuyay and Ryan MacLaughlin partied on.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS: Ocean Club waitress April Stoltz, fourth from left, caught up with Gerard Elmore, left, Marlene Baldueza, élan, and Jane Loo in the "reserved"section. The official theme for the night was "Piranha Room Goes Burlesque" with a suggestion of 1920's speakeasy ambiance. Stoltz and the other waitresses dressed accordingly. Most of the crowd dressed up -- or down -- as their fashion sense directed.
