ONE OF my favorite guest performers from "Chappelle's Show" is coming to Honolulu.
After a lack of hotel rooms threatened to cancel Mos Def's visit on Feb. 19, a representative for Tom Moffatt confirmed Monday that the rapper / actor will perform during an 18-and-over show at Pipeline Cafe. Microscopic Syllables is scheduled as the opening act.
Tickets are priced at $33 and $45, and will go on sale tomorrow at all Ticketmaster outlets. Mos Def will also stick around for a 21-and-over afterparty at the club.
Along with Common and Kanye West's live rendition of "Food," Mos Def spitting "Close Edge" while riding in Dave Chappelle's SUV is one of my favorite moments from the program, which airs on Comedy Central ...
TICKETS also go on sale tomorrow for the return of Sum 41 to the islands.
Last here in May 2003, the Canadian punk quartet will be in town to give fans a sneak preview of their upcoming summer tour in support of "Chuck," the band's latest release.

Galmiche Entertainment presents the concert that will occupy two stages -- one at Kapono's, the other at Don Ho's Island Grill.
