Walkers participated in the Sharon's Ride/Walk for Epilepsy on Sunday near Fort Ruger Park. The event featured a 50-mile bike ride and 25- and 10-mile walks.


Warriors' Thomas expected back this week

Senior All-American middle blocker Delano Thomas is expected to return to the Hawaii men's volleyball team this week.

Thomas completed course work from last semester last week and is awaiting clearance from the university, which could be as early as tomorrow. He has not been able to practice with the team since the spring semester began last month.

The fourth-ranked Warriors (6-1) host No. 9 Stanford (3-6) in 7 p.m. matches Thursday and Friday.

Pritchett's team captures Waikoloa tourney

Waikoloa's director of golf Dave Pritchett was part of a five-person winning team in the Waikoloa Ohana Pro-Am Scramble on the King's Course.

The team, which was also made up of Laura Keast, Sandi Bundo, Richard Cober and Maureen Cober, shot a net 56.

Senior Day for UH swimmers on Saturday

The University of Hawaii men's and women's swimming teams close out the regular season on Saturday at noon with a dual meet against Washington at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

The teams are celebrating Senior Day, and several promotional events and special giveaways are planned.

For one of the giveaways, UH athletic department officials will toss a free T-shirt up into the stands every time the Warriors win an event.
