Sandi and Wayne Stirling, from Ontario, Canada, couldn't wait for their planned Feb. 6 visit to Hawaii. "This morning my husband Wayne and I shoveled the driveway and sidewalk," Sandi Stirling said on Wednesday. "We started to talk about our trip to Hawaii. So after shoveling, I decided to make a display of some Hawaiian items that I have on my snow-covered picnic table."

"The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe" is just that: We're looking for evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii.
