Celebs are like anyone else --
they’re awed by each other

SIGN MY BOOK?: Celebrities are rarely seen asking other celebs for autographs, but it happened when Watermark Publishing celebrated the release of "Honolulu Magazine's The 50 Greatest Hawaii Albums" at Native Books in Ward Warehouse on Friday. Marlene Sai, Robert Cazimero, Mahi Beamer, Kahauanu Lake, Roland Cazimero, Tommy Lake, Leah Bernstein, Jean "Kini" Sullivan, "Uncle Tom" Moffatt, Buddy Fo, Hailama Farden, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom and Harry B. Soria Jr., were among those who stopped by, and when they weren't signing books for passers by they were signing books for each other. 'Ukulele virtuoso Gordon Mark provided unobtrusive entertertainment inside the store. Martin Denny and Byron Yasui capped the entertainment outside with a surprise mini set on the main stage ... Inviting the celebs to attend the book signing was apparently a last-minute decision by someone at Watermark. Had the public known all those stars were going to be available for autographs the store could have sold every copy in stock. ...

ALL EYES ON HER: No one noticed the first time Keahi Conjugacion left Hawaii in search of fame and fortune, but she's getting a big send-off this time. The celebration continues tonight when she joins Zanuck Kapala Lindsey for "Z.TV" at The W, and wraps up Sunday at Ward's Rafters, 3810 Maunaloa Ave., where she'll be backed by the Honolulu Jazz Quartet ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: To Al Akana and Aileen Fairbanks, who are celebrating today ... also to Leina'ala Haile and Juliet Lighter (Friday), Joe Mundo and Sharlene Oshiro (Saturday), Kamakoa Page (Sunday) and to Aima Aluli McManus (Tuesday) ...

DON'T TOUCH!: Kevin Kwock Jung Chang got a special tour when Kapa'aina played Molokai recently. Friends showed him the famous Phallic Rock that's said to ensure pregnancy for women who sit or sleep on it. Chang says he didn't even touch it "on fear of it having a backfire effect" but adds that he would have slept all night on the Kohe Rock if he could have extended his stay an extra day (and we'll refer you to Kawana Pukui's Hawaiian Dictionary for the rest of that story) ...
