Marine lecture at UH
to focus on shipwrecks

A specialist will talk about
archaeology in deep waters

"Maritime Archaeology in Hawaii" will be discussed in a public lecture from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Institute for Geophysics Auditorium, Room 110.

Speaking will be Kelly Gleason, East Carolina University doctoral candidate and maritime heritage specialist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Sanctuary Program, Pacific Islands Region.

She will discuss shipwrecks in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and deep-water archaeology.

The lecture is sponsored by the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary and the UH Marine Option Program as part of Whale Month.
