Two Hawaii organizations that oppose genetic engineering and support traditional farming practices are holding a series of talks around the state this week, beginning with an 8 a.m. briefing tomorrow for legislators at the state Capitol Auditorium.
Speakers include Maori experts Paul Reynolds and Cherryl Waereaiterangi Smith; Debra Harry, a Northern Paiute from Nevada; and Le'a Kanehe, a native Hawaiian of Honolulu.
Other speaking engagements will feature two of the above speakers and be preceded by a reception one hour before the speakers.
Oahu:

Big Island:
» Tuesday: 7 p.m., Kona Outdoor Circle.
» Thursday: 7 p.m., Honoka'a Peoples' Theatre.
» Friday: 7 p.m., University of Hawaii-Hilo, Campus Center Room 301.
Kauai:
» Tuesday: 6:30 p.m., War Memorial Convention Center, Lihue.
Maui:
» Wednesday: 6 p.m., Maui Community College Student Lounge.
» Thursday: 6:30 p.m., Haiku Community Center.
Molokai:
» Next Sunday: 6:30 p.m., Kulana O Iwi Complex.
