Swell of charity

Isle residents can help raise money for the victims of the Indian Ocean tsunamis by supporting three weekend events.

The first takes place tomorrow at Coffee Talk in Kaimuki, with Unity Crayons promoting "Ska a Go-Go!!" The all-ages show starts at 8 p.m. Black Square, Pimpbot, the Ex-Superheroes and 5th Freedom will perform and proceeds from the evening will be donated to the American Red Cross.

On Sunday, Pipeline Cafe presents the "T.E.A.R. Concert," with all money collected going to the East-West Center's tsunami relief fund.

Doors open at 4 p.m. at the club, and there will be complimentary pupus available until 7.

Along with eight other bands, Jake Shimabukuro, Inoa'ole, Hawaiian Pride, Thick Tubes and Native Blend will perform.

And on Monday, some of Honolulu's top restaurants will team up with an A-list of local entertainers to raise money for the Red Cross' Hawaii Chapter.

Tickets are $60 for the dinner party at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, which will feature signature dishes from such popular restaurants as Chai's Island Bistro, Donato's, Hy's Steak House, Keo's, Sansei, Side Street Inn, 3660 on the Rise, Alan Wong's, and Diamond Head Grill.

Seating begins at 5:30 p.m., with musical entertainment provided by Henry Kapono, HAPA, the Brothers Cazimero, Maunalua, Na Palapalai, Jake Shimabukuro and Jerry Santos.
