Vulcans' Cabagnot earns weekly honors

Hawaii-Hilo point guard Alex Cabagnot was selected Pacific West Player of the Week yesterday after guiding the Vulcans to three wins last week.

Cabagnot, who leads the conference in assist-turnover ratio and is second in assists, scored 44 points and dished out 18 assists in the three games, including a team-high 22-point performance against St. Martin's College.

Cal Poly-Pomona 84, Brigham Young-Hawaii 70: Hervey Malone scored 22 points as Cal Poly-Pomona handed the Seasiders (5-4) their third straight loss. Austin Smylie led BYUH with 17 points and Jake Chrisman added 15.
