Thanks to the
Muriel Flanders Foundation, 270 children and parents from the Boys & Girls Club, mostly from Waianae, Nanakuli, Moiliili and Waimanalo, had a night on the town Saturday. The event was organized by Muriel's daughter,
Mary Philpotts McGrath. They toured Washington Place and then went to the YWCA for dinner. After eating, they boarded buses for a tour of the city's Christmas lights. Next came
Ballet Hawaii's "Nutcracker" at Blaisdell Concert Hall. The cast included Mary's daughter,
Marion Philpotts-Miller, and Marion's daughter,
Makana Miller. Muriel must have been smiling to see her foundation's money put to such good use, especially for the youngsters during Christmas holidays ...
