Georgeson takes Billabong Pro, Triple Crown

In an all-Australian final, Chelsea Georgeson used a 9.5 wave in the last minutes of the final heat to beat last year's champion Samantha Cornish and take home the Billabong Pro Maui title yesterday at Honolua Bay. With the win, Georgeson also clinched the women's Vans Triple Crown two-event championship.

Georgeson moved into third place in the overall WCT standings, passing six-time champion Layne Beachley. Sofia Mulanovich clinched the year's world title in November and Rochelle Ballard finished second in the rankings.

David Ishii shot a 67 in yesterday's member-only Aloha Section PGA Sony Open Qualifier at the Waialae Country Club to earn a spot in next month's Sony Open.

Kevin Carll finished second with a 69 to claim the other guaranteed spot in the Sony Open. John Lynch, the 2004 Aloha Section PGA player of the year, and Jonathan Mathias, whose 72 was the top amateur score in yesterday's qualifier, also qualified.
