Sandler’s new movie can’t
top ‘50 First Dates’

I enjoyed Saturday's preview of Adam Sandler's new romantic comedy "Spanglish," which opens Friday. The guest list included the CEO of Hawaii Health Systems Corp., Tom Driskill; St. Andrew's Priory Head of School Marilyn Matsunaga; and Navy Capt. Bruce Smith. ... Guests included Mayor-elect Mufi Hannemann; Alan Wong's executive chef, Lance Kosaka; and Nalo Farms owner Dean Okimoto. Actors are needed in the following categories: local or Asian males, ages 30 to 40 and 50 to 70; and petite Caucasian females, ages 30 to 70. Ad 2 Honolulu and Kinetic Productions will be handling open auditions 5:30 to 8 p.m. today in the penthouse of the IBM Building, 1240 Ala Moana. Call Ryan Kawamoto at 597-8598, ext. 2, for an appointment. Shooting for the nonunion project begins later this month.
