Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male flasher. Parking lot surveillance cameras recorded a clothed male who matches his description just before the latest incident.

Police said they suspect the same man is responsible for three such lewd offenses in the last two months.

"This sort of indecent exposure is about personal gratification and creating an atmosphere of fear in the victim," said CrimeStoppers Detective Letha DeCaires.

Parking lot surveillance cameras recorded a clothed male who matches the suspect's description at the same location just before the latest incident occurred. Investigators said they believe the picture is of the suspect before he removed his clothes off-camera.

The first case occurred Oct. 25 at about 7:15 p.m. at parking stalls near Ali'iolani Hale at 417 S. King St., police said. Two women were walking to their cars when the nude suspect appeared and masturbated, according to police.

At about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at 350 Halekauwila St., a woman driving out of the makai garage observed the naked suspect masturbating near the structure's entrance.

Police said that the next day a woman was walking in the makai garage stairwell and observed the suspect masturbating near the elevator.

"Our experience with sex crimes offenders leads us to err on the side of caution," DeCaires said. "When dealing with people who are flashing, we need to stop them early before their actions escalate."

The suspect is described as in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 160 pounds, clean-shaven, and with black hair that is cut in a military-type flat-top. He was also last seen wearing a dark-blue T-shirt, denim shorts, white socks, gray and navy athletic shoes, a black watch on his left wrist and a black fanny pack.

Anyone with information on this case can contact Detective Vincent Domingo at 529-3995. Calls can also be made to CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or by dialing *CRIME on a cellular phone.
