k.d. lang brings concert to Shell

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Grammy Award winner k.d. lang's premiere Hawaii concert.

Lang will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Waikiki Shell, backed by her band and accompanied by the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra.

The Canadian-born lang began her singing career in country music backed by the Reclines, in honor of late country great Patsy Kline.

Breaking the Top 40 country market with two singles, "I'm Down to My Last Cigarette" and "Full Moon of Love," lang produced two best-selling albums, "Shadowland" and "Absolute Torch and Twang." Both albums went gold.

Her current release, "Hymns of the 49th Parallel," has lang paying tribute to songwriters from her homeland, including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Jane Siberry, Bruce Cockburn and Leonard Cohen.
