'Lei of Smiles' adds isle sparkle

image: stuffs art Adorn your Christmas tree with a "Lei of Smiles," this year's holiday ornament created by the Friends of Honolulu City Lights as part of its 20th-year celebration. Fifth in a series by the Friends, it features jolly ol' Shaka Santa hand in hand with isle children and Mrs. (Mele) Claus gathered around the Christmas tree with Honolulu Hale in the background and will be for sale at tomorrow's tree-lighting ceremony (see Page 3 in Weekend for event details). The ornament, including those from past years, is available at Macy's Oahu stores, Borders Waikele and Ward Centre stores and the Honolulu City Store at Ala Moana Center. The $16 price helps offset costs of the annual Christmas program. For $3 more, you can have one shipped as a gift of sunshine for friends enduring the chill of mainland winters. Write P.O. Box 8877, Honolulu, HI 96830; or visit www.honolulucitylights.org.
