Dods gets name on downtown plaza

First Hawaiian Bank has named the park area in front of First Hawaiian Center in downtown Honolulu after its retiring chief executive, Walter Dods, calling it the "Walter A. Dods Jr. Plaza."

The $175 million headquarters for First Hawaiian was built during Dods' 15-year tenure as chairman and chief executive, and was completed in 1996. It has 24,000 square feet of plaza space.
