ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS IS ...?: Local playwright Lisa Matsumoto enjoyed some quality time backstage with Santa Claus after the preview performance of her new pidgin musical, "The Christmas Gift of Aloha," at Ala Moana Center's CenterStage on Wednesday. Versatile actor Dion Donahue plays Santa, and Devon M.T. Nekoba, right, has a supporting role as one of the menehunes who helps Santa each year by building Hawaiian toys and preparing local treats for him. Kris Fitzgerald stars as a lost Christmas elf named Merry, and Bryan Y. Yamasaki plays the menehune who teaches him about Christmas in Hawaii. "The Christmas Gift of Aloha" is presented at 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays through Dec. 23.

A BIG DAY X 2: Cast members Jason Kanda and Janice Terukina had plenty to celebrate at the party that followed the opening of "Christmas Talk Story 2004" at Tenney Theatre on Saturday. "CTS 2004" includes Terukina's first work as a playwright and also gives Kanda the chance to show he can sing as well as act.
