Give up that hair

Salon Bobbi & Guy at Ward Warehouse is hosting a Locks of Love hair drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, allowing participants to get a new look while doing good over the holiday season.

Donors will be given a free haircut by Salon Bobbi & Guy stylists in exchange for hair locks 10 inches or longer that will be used to create high-quality hair prosthetics for children who've suffered hair loss because of auto-immune diseases or cancer treatments.

This drive includes entertainment and prize giveaways at the Ward Warehouse amphitheater for people to browse while they wait to donate hair. Prizes will be awarded for the longest hair donated.

Please note that hair must be clean and dry. For best results, wash your hair the night before. For details, call 591-2899.

If you've got hair to spare, like Kevin Isa, Salon Bobbi & Guy wants you to share some during the Locks of Love hair drive Sunday. After lopping off the requisite 10 inches at a past event, Isa's tresses still passed his shoulders.

Sneak peek at spring

Kelly Gray, creative director of St. John, was to present the company's 2005 cruise collection at Neiman Marcus last Saturday, but was sidelined by an ear infection.

Her absence didn't dampen the spirits of guests who were treated to a parade of separates in blooming florals, vivid citrus and lime hues -- a variation on the green trend that started last spring, continued through summer and emerged as emerald for fall.

Drawing the most applause were opulent evening gowns embellished with rhinestones and an array of brooches in unexpected places.
