Police seek couple in burglary of Navy home

Police and naval investigators are looking for a couple seen outside a military home that was burglarized last week.

On Nov. 18, a neighbor in the Maloelap Navy Housing area near Salt Lake saw a dark-blue sedan parked in front of a home on Maloelap Drive about 10 a.m., police said. A woman appeared to be in the driver's seat and a male in the passenger's seat, the witness told police.

The resident returned home and discovered several electronic items stolen.

The witness helped police put together composite pictures of both suspects. The female is described as in her 20s, with a medium build, dark-brown hair, tan complexion, and was last seen wearing a green T-shirt. The male suspect was described as about 25 or 26 years old, of medium build and height, with wavy dark-brown hair and a tan complexion.

The suspect vehicle is described as a '90s Toyota four-door sedan.

Anyone with information may call Special Agent Kay Een at 474-1218, ext. 266. Calls can also be made to CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Man accused of impersonating officer

Police arrested a Punchbowl man Monday on suspicion of armed robbery, harassment and impersonating a police officer.

Police said the suspect, 40, approached a man on Prospect Street, identified himself as a police officer by displaying a badge, and ordered the man to drop a bag he was carrying.

The victim, 39, recognized that the badge was fake and refused to comply unless the suspect could offer another form of identification, police said.

The suspect threw a punch that was deflected by the victim, police said.

He then approached a 17-year-old boy who was nearby talking on a cellular phone, and demanded at gunpoint that the boy hand over his phone, police said.

The boy refused, so the suspect grabbed the phone while pointing a gun at the boy's groin, police said.

Police officers arrived and arrested the man and recovered the gun.

11-year-old arrested in robbery of peer

Police arrested an 11-year-old boy at Stevenson Intermediate School at Punchbowl on Monday for allegedly robbing another 11-year-old boy.

The suspect approached the victim about 2:45 p.m. Friday, asked if he had any money and threatened to hurt him, police said. The suspect then searched the victim and took money, according to police.

The boy was arrested for second-degree robbery and released pending investigation.
