Beauty queens past and present were among the 400 who showed up for a 20-year retrospective exhibition celebrating designer Takeo's career. Among the guests were Angela Pratt, a former Miss Honolulu who is now an OB/GYN, Lynne Madden and her daughter Erin (Miss Hawaii Teen USA, 2002), current Miss Hawaii USA Jennifer Fairbank and Miss Teen Hawaii 2004 and Miss Teen USA First Runner-up 2004 Sonya Balmores.

Stuart, above, and Lydia Belshe brought their "kids" to Sunday's Brunch on the Beach in Waikiki. Lydia said whenever they go out Brownie, 9 months (left), Buddy, 5, Bunji, 3, and Bandi, 4, (hidden in the back) always ride in the stroller. Buddy and Bandi are the parents of Brownie, and Bunji is Brownie's aunty.

Also featured in the exhibition, up through Nov. 27, is Jason Momoa, who rushed from "North Shore" filming to arrive just as the party was winding down, setting off another round of picture-taking with fans. Al and Charlyn Masini were among those offering congratulations to Takeo, who, along with Eric Chandler, helped the couple stage their 2001 wedding at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Monarch Room ... Also at the event was artist Roy Venters, who will be introducing an edible Christmas tree at next month's First Friday gallery walk.

All the ornaments will be edible, and for those looking for a place to throw a Christmas party, Venters will be renting out his downtown studio from Thanksgiving through New Year's with an edible Christmas tree as part of the decor. Prices vary according to the selection of food. Call him at 381-3445. ...

SINGER Dick Jensen was among those taking in the sneak preview of "Finding Neverland," which I would give starstarstarhalf-star. As a member of Pono Shim's Concierge Services at Ward, Jensen didn't have a problem getting a seat at the nearly sold-out showing. I always feel bad for the concierge workers who continually need to inform nonmembers that the section is reserved.

The seats are roped off and marked by bright yellow "RESERVED" signs, but I watched one couple hop over the cord and, to avoid making eye contact with the concierge worker, made goo-goo eyes at each other. There was another older woman who pretended not to understand, repeating "What? ... What?" until her husband finally left to sit elsewhere.

So, as a reminder to the oblivious, you, too, can have reserved seating for a nominal fee. Just call 597-1127.
