The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Barnwell hits $51 high
Barnwell Industries Inc., which operates in two of the stock market's hottest sectors, oil and real estate, rose 2.5 percent this week to hit an all-time high of $51 and emerge as the only local company with a gain in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index.
Central Pacific Financial Corp., the parent of Central Pacific Bank and City Bank, rose to an all-time high Monday of $32.50 before slipping to finish the week down 0.2 percent at $32.30.
