CRIB NOTES

'Spa Experience' enters realm of the senses

Mutual Publishing has delivered a new way to relax with the publication of "Hawaii's Spa Experience: Rejuvenating Secrets of the Islands" by Sherri Strausfogel and Sophia V. Schweitzer.

The book demystifies the spa experience with a guide to the plants and herbs that supply essential oils and scents that go into aromatherapy treatments as well as the techniques and therapies used, acts as a guide to the major resort spas that have sprouted up on each island in the last few years, and shows how to re-create the spa experience at home with recipes for pampering your body.

What's more, they've incorporated scented inks in the printing process so the pages carry the soothing scent of lavender and a blend of essential oils to put your mind at ease as you settle in for a read, perhaps to the accompaniment of "Hawaiian Healing Journey," a mixture of instrumentals and nature sounds on a CD produced by Stephen Jones and Bryan Kessler.

The book is 128 pages, softcover, and retails for $22.95.

See today's 'Home & Garden' (above) for the book signings schedule.
