New Pulse beats
on Sundays in
print edition
Star-Bulletin
The print edition of the Star-Bulletin has a new lineup for Sundays.
Pulse -- a new section with Health, Science, Insight and Books -- debuts today as section F. Health news, which had been running on Thursdays, starts off this section. It is followed by a new Science report that will incorporate the "Science" part of the "SciTech" pages that used to run in Business.
Pulse also includes Insight, our weekly offering of editorials, commentary, Richard Borreca's "On Politics," Corky's cartoon and letters from readers. There is also a Books page, which moves over from Mauka/Makai.
And Mauka/Makai, which had been a tabloid, is now a full-sized Today section, or broadsheet. It still has such favorites as Nadine Kam's "The Weekly Eater" and Charley Memminger's "Honolulu Lite." The New York Times crossword puzzle also can be found here, along with "Crossword of the Pacific," which used to run Mondays on the Entertainment page.
The "Tech" part of "SciTech" becomes PersonalTech inside the Business section and includes Curt Brandao's "Digital Slob" column.
Finally, the Travel section is also changing -- to an easy-to-read tabloid format.
