What qualifies you to be a state representative?
My profession has brought me into contact with all segments of our community, and provided a close connection to the work that is being done to resolve the unique human and economic issues we face.
What would you do to combat the state's crystal methamphetamine abuse epidemic?
Prevention - promote afterschool and other community activities to channel energy and exploration. Give law enforcement agencies the tools they need to cut off supply, and to make arrests of manufacturers and dealers stick.
What can the Legislature do to improve Oahu's traffic congestion?
Stop the raid on the Highway Fund! It should remain intact so that monies are available for road improvement projects. State dollars for this fund are matched 4 to 1 with federal dollars.

I can be an effective advocate for my community because of my legal education, legislative experience, community involvement and commitment to serving the people of Hawaii.
What would you do to combat the state's crystal methamphetamine abuse epidemic?
Continue to adjust and improve upon the balanced and comprehensive drug package we passed last session that toughened penalties for ice manufacturers and dealers, funded prevention programs that target adolescent abuse, and expanded adult treatment programs.
What can the Legislature do to improve Oahu's traffic congestion?
There is no simple, quick "silver bullet" solution. A comprehensive consensus proposal by county, state and federal leaders is needed and should be initiated by the governor and mayor with the support of the Legislature and City Council.
