Star-Bulletin Index
The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Cyanotech returns
Cyanotech Corp., the second-worst performing stock in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index this year, rose 5.2 percent this week to lead nine other local stocks. The Kona producer of nutritional and animal feed products closed yesterday at $1.22 and is down 35.1 percent in 2004.
Alexander & Baldwin Inc., which reports earnings next week, rose 3 percent to $35.42 after hitting a 52-week closing high of $36.19 on Thursday.
Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc. brought up the rear as it slumped 19.1 percent to 1.7 cents yesterday after hitting a 52-week low of 1.6 cents the previous day.
