Mayoral candidates to appear at Midnight Ohana

Honolulu mayoral candidates Duke Bainum and Mufi Hannemann will serve as assistant coaches during the Hawaii men's basketball team's intrasquad scrimmage that will take place at the Midnight Ohana event Oct. 15.

Hannemann will coach the "Green" team with UH assistant Jackson Wheeler, while Bainum will aid Bob Burke's "White" squad.

Admission to the event is free and doors to the Stan Sheriff Center will open at 8 p.m. with carnival games and entertainment.

Seasiders swept on the road

The BYU-Hawaii volleyball team could only manage a .084 hitting percentage as it was swept by Montana-State Billings 30-18, 30-21, 30-19 last night in Billings, Mont.

Yu Chuan Weng was the only Seasider with double-digit kills as she finished with 10.

Water polo wins two: Vanja Kalabic and Keith Dow each scored seven goals over two games as 13th-ranked BYU-Hawaii defeated Redlands 8-7 and Claremont 19-7 yesterday to improve to 7-2. The Seasiders will play UC Santa Cruz and Chapman today.
