Hilo enters poll,
Punahou drops out
Two teams in blue and yellow traded places this week in the Star-Bulletin Top 10 football poll.
Hilo, which beat Honokaa 35-13 on Saturday, entered the Top 10 for the first time this fall. The Vikings, 5-0 in Big Island Interscholastic Federation play (6-0 overall), landed at the 10 spot.
Punahou, with lopsided losses to perennial powers Kamehameha and Saint Louis, dropped out of the poll for the first time this season.
Coming off a 45-10 win over rival Castle, Kahuku remained atop the rankings, but the Red Raiders didn't get unanimous approval. While Kahuku garnered six first-place votes, one panelist tabbed another unbeaten squad, Mililani, for his top pick.
Leilehua, which moved up to No. 6 after a resounding 43-23 win over Kapolei, visits Mililani on Friday in a showdown for first place in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West.
Lahainaluna also moved up one notch despite having a week off. The unbeaten Lunas traded up to No. 7, while Iolani moved up one place to No. 8. Castle took the biggest fall, from sixth to No. 9.
