Linda Lingle was joined by Honolulu Fire Chief Attilio Leonardo, left, retired Chief Donald Chang and Deputy Chief John Clark at a preview screening of "Ladder 49" for Honolulu firefighters and their guests Tuesday at Dole Cannery. The firefighters were greeted by a hula troupe as they walked down a red carpet into the theater. Displays in the lobby included firefighting equipment and photos of the HFD in action.

BACK FROM IRAQ: Sebastian Feary, center, joined his aunt Dancetta Feary and Peter Gellatly for Kalapana's 30th-anniversary concert with the Honolulu Symphony at Blaisdell Concert Hall on Friday. STARS BACKSTAGE: Kalapana's Gaylord Holomalia talked with Yvonne Elliman after they performed with the Honolulu Symphony on Friday. Elliman, opening act of the double bill, gave her best concert performance since returning home and introduced several new songs. Kalapana did a shortened version of its standard concert set but included all its biggest hits.
