Vocal, dance troupe
to tour on mainland

A troupe of Hawaii Baptist Academy choristers and dancers was to leave today for a two-week concert tour in Texas and Oklahoma.

The 17-member Soldiers of Light vocal ensemble will perform in four dinner concerts, including an appearance at Dallas Baptist University, and at worship services in several churches. The school's Christian hula group, Halau Hula O Ka Lama Ula, will perform with the singers. Cheryl Sanders will direct the groups, and academy President Richard Bento will be among the faculty accompanying the youth groups.

It is the first mainland tour for the choral group, which was formed in 1991 to present the gospel through music and testimony. It has performed for church events and at conferences in the islands.
