Sevngjin Chung, above, cried yesterday as she read a letter her father wrote about how her teacher, Diane Kato, below, helped his daughter, who did not know how to speak English, through second grade. Kato was named Wal-Mart's teacher of the year in a ceremony at her school, Alvah Scott Elementary. Wal-Mart also presented a $10,000 grant to the school.
