The Honolulu Printmakers is inviting art fans to "Pick Your Passion" during its Prints 2004 fund-raiser Oct. 1 at the Academy Art Center Garden.
It's the only show in town in which certain admission rates allow attendees to take home a work of art, with proceeds benefiting the 77-year-old non-profit printmaking cooperative and workshop.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with music by Michael Tenenbaum and an all-you-can-eat curry bar provided by 808 Catering. Take time during the festivities to wander the gallery and view the collectible prints offered by local artists, making note of which one you want to take home.
Admission of $120 (or $140 for two people) covers food, beverages and one print to take home.
There is also a $25 admission for spectators who simply want to enjoy the food, drinks, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the artwork without taking a piece home.
Drawings will be held to determine order of art selection, so there's no guarantee you'll get your first choice, but with a roster of 100 artists, there are sure to be three or four on your must-have list.
The Academy Art Center is at 1111 Victoria St. For information or tickets call Laura Smith at 536-5507.
