HONORING THE QUEEN: Steel guitarist Jeff Au Hoy, left, and Leina'ala Kalama Heine, dancing, joined the Brothers Cazimero in celebrating the release of their new album, "Some Call It Aloha ... Don't Tell." They also commemorated the anniversary of Queen Liliuokalani's birth with a free concert on the steps of Iolani Palace on Friday. Robert recalled celebrating the release of "Ho'ala" 25 years ago with a concert at the gazebo and wondered if they might be playing in the throne room in another 25 years. "I don't want to sit on the throne," he said. "I just want to sing to it."

ALCOHOL-FREE FUN: Manu Boyd, left, caught up with Robert Cazimero during the VIP reception at Washington Place that followed the Cazimeros' concert. No alcohol was allowed, but the buffet was well stocked and the desserts superb. Boyd revealed that his stylish black aloha shirt is by his sponsor, Tori Richard. Cazimero, a connoisseur of leis, said he was delighted to receive a money lei made of quarters because "they're so handy for doing laundry or when you need parking money."

PARTYING WITH BOZE: Roland "Boze" Cazimero, center, celebrated with Pauline Wilson, left, Jon de Mello, Myrna Young and Donna Sallee. Many VIPs were ready to eat after walking over from Iolani Palace, so Boze was enlisted to give a short prayer and open the food line.

TERRITORIAL TAKEOFF: M.J. Gonzalvo, left, talked with Dann Seki at the opening-night party for Kumu Kuhua's production of "Territorial Plays" on Thursday. Gonzalvo has key roles in two of the three plays. Seki was seen in the opening episode of NBC's new show "Hawaii."

NOW HE CAN SMILE!: "Territorial Plays" cast member Chance Gusukuma, left, was all smiles at the party despite playing increasingly conflicted characters in the show. Allen Y. Okubo, there to support the Kumu Kahua show, was excellent in "The Wash" at MVT in 2001.
