A worker started to lay out traffic cones yesterday morning to keep oncoming cars away after a 60-ton Terex crane fell on its side yesterday morning on Hamakua Drive in Kailua. The crane, which was in front of Frank Coluccio Construction's equipment yard, was sitting on a low-boy trailer that experienced hydraulic failure, according to supervisor Bobby Partridge. The crane operator was uninjured, and the crane only suffered a few bent fenders, Partridge said. Workers were working on a sewer improvement project at the time of the accident.
