Band holding release party
Local Christian recording artists 7 Simple Pieces will have a CD release party at Kapono's tomorrow, headlining a concert bill that will include Natural Vibrations, 3 Plus, Battle Royale, Milo Shade and Big Break. Besides regularly gigging in clubs around town, the band recently opened for national Christian group Mercy Me at a Hawaii Theatre concert. In a collective statement, 7 Simple Pieces say "our music is for the young people, the style of music we do ranges from reggae to hip-hop to rock to acoustic, contemporary style music. That's where it's at for us. We're just thankful and enjoy what we do." Colleen Nomura, former choreographer and dancer for Don Ho and Jim Nabors during their years at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's domed showroom, will sign-dance to the band's radio hit "The One Who Loves You." Billed as a family event, with keiki 12 and under free, advance tickets are available at Cheapo Music in Puck's Alley, Rainbow Books and Music on University Ave., Logos in Ward Warehouse, Jelly's the Original in Aiea, Showers of Blessing in Mililani, Samurai in Kapolei, The Giving Tree in Pearl Highlands, and the Agape Shoppe and Hungry Ear, both in Kailua.
