Hawaii athletes medal at Transplant Games

Twelve Hawaii athletes brought home nine medals from the 2004 U.S. Transplant Games at Minneapolis that ended Aug. 1.

All athletes at the games are transplant recipients and, as successful survivors, disprove without a doubt the viability and worth of getting a "second chance at life."

Ray Agaran Jr. won gold medals in the boys 50-meter dash and long jump. Calvin Nakamoto took a silver medal in men's table tennis. Abby Lorica and Sandy Webster each won silver medals in women's singles tennis, then partnered to win the gold medal in women's doubles tennis.
