Marie Lord made a generous contribution for the new Hawaii Theatre marquee in the name of her late husband, Jack Lord, star of the "Hawaii Five-0" series. The marquee was supposed to be put in place Wednesday as part of the $33 million renovation of the facility, but heavy rains forced a delay until Thursday. The theatre will honor Marie for the contribution later in the year ... Hawaii Theatre publicist Lisa Josephsohn could not make the installation ceremony as she entered Queen's hospital Wednesday and had emergency stomach surgery Thursday ...

For enormous laughs catch "Reno 911" on the Comedy Central channel Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. The show about a screwball sheriff's unit in Reno, led by a male lieutenant who wears tight shorts and panty hose, is a riot. Three women, two of whom wear form-fitting uniforms, are part of the unit. Besides being loads of fun, the show is sexy and the ethnically diverse ensemble cast is made up of talented actors. Some of the situations they get into and the characters they apprehend are wild ...

Patricia Tam moves up at Halekulani Corp.

Congratulations to Halekulani Corp. Vice President Patricia Tam who has been appointed to the new position of V.P. of Standards and Corporate Relations. Patty, former G.M. of both the Halekulani and Parc hotels, is a local success story. She started her career as a baker, worked her way through UH over a hot oven, and kept climbing up that visitor industry ladder to her present position ...

NBC Universal public relations exec Curt King and wife, Julie, hit town last week to celebrate their 10th anniversary and look in on the "Hawaii" production. They dined with Isle P.R. women Mona Wood and Kristin Jackson at Hy's and enjoyed the food and singer-guitarist Audy Kimura. King handles P.R. for 21 NBC shows and did P.R. for such top-rated shows as "Seinfeld" and "Friends" ... "Access Hollywood" cameras were in Chinatown Tuesday, shooting "Hawaii." The scene featured a car chase down River Street ...
