The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.



Nut stock jumps


ML Macadamia Orchards LP, which is due to report earnings next week, was one of three companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index to post a gain over the past five days as its stock rose 6.4 percent.

Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc. was the top performer with a 21.7 percent increase even though its shares only rose half a penny to 2.8 cents.

Cyanotech Corp., which saw its fiscal 2005 first-quarter sales drop $583,000 from the previous quarter, was the worst performer as its stock fell 24.2 percent to $1.32.
