Kapolei 'Taste' benefits schoolsThe Rotary Club of Kapolei is in its fifth year of sponsoring the oceanside event at Ko Olina Resort & Marina -- to be held 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 25. Included will be more than 20 restaurants, beer and wine stations, entertainment, silent auction and a fireworks display. Since 2000, the Taste at Kapolei has generated more than $200,000 for educational and scholarship programs for Leeward students. Participating restaurants include the newly opened Roy's at Ko Olina and the soon-to-be opened Buono Pasto Assagio, coming to Kapolei. Tickets will sell for $60 until Sept. 17, when the price goes up to $75. Sponsorship packages are available. Call 275-3010. Low-sodium cookingThe Rehabilitation Center of the Pacific continues its series of classes on low-sodium cooking with a session at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25.The two-hour class in the Frear Cafeteria focuses on cooking with herbs and spices instead of salt. Cost is $30. Call 566-3780.
