National Kids Day "Picnic in the Park" took place at Kakaako Waterfront Park yesterday. The event was sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and the Hawaii Children's Discovery Center. During a pudding eating contest, participants had to feed each other blindfolded. Krystal Mokuahi fed chocolate pudding to Leif Mokuahi.

Jeffery Esmond was surrounded by gongs Saturday as he played with the University of Hawaii Gamelan Ensemble at a performance on the grounds of Iolani Palace. The performance was part of the Folk Arts Program of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
