Healthy Baby finalist Lilinoe Helen Mei Ling Doong, 26 months, held the hand of her father, Lester Doong, before going onstage.
2003 Meadow Gold Healthy Baby winner Taylor Wu waited backstage with Lani Moo, the company's mascot, just before this year's winner was announced.
Alika Almaraz, 2, was crowned as the 51st Annual Meadow Gold Healthy Baby winner yesterday at Ala Moana Center. Alika's proud parents are Anthony and Dana Almaraz. Alika won a $2,500 U.S. Savings Bond, along with additional prizes.
Raidin Kadooka, 23 months, was comforted by his mother, Maile, just before walking on the stage as one of 50 finalists for the Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest. Judges had culled down the finalists from 400 hopeful contestants.
Spencer Matthews, 2 1/2, danced a little number while onstage. Spencer placed fourth out of 50 finalists and keeps healthy by spending time at Koko Head stables, operated by her parents, Karen and Peter Matthews.
