GREAT SHOW, KYRA!: Kyra Poppler, center, celebrated with Terri Seeborg, left, and Athena Espania at the opening night party for "The Underpants" at Manoa Valley Theatre on Wednesday. Poppler gives a Po'okela-worthy performance as the show's heroine, and Seeborg is good as her gossipy neighbor. Espania designed their early 20th-century costumes.

STRIKE A POSE, THERE'S NOTHING TO IT!: Da Braddahs -- James P. RochŽ, left, and Tony J. Silva -- struck a pose with Lindsey Mau and Kaitlyn Metcalf after they'd all appeared in a fashion show at Kapono's on July 11. Mau and Metcalf were two of the models. Da Bruddahs provided a welcome comic interlude performing as their Samoan alter egos, Fitifiti and Heha.

"TWO SKINNY CHEFS" AT CHAI'S: Celebrity chef Chai Chaowasaree, third from left, relaxed with co-host Beth-An Nishijima, left, Linda Umetsu and producer Michael Harris after a special "live" taping of "Two Skinny Chefs" at Chai's Island Bistro on July 11. More than 400 people paid $85 each to attend the taping and eat. The show airs at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on KGMB, repeating at 4 p.m. Sunday.

"RISQUŽ" KICKS OFF AT THE HANOHANO ROOM: Fashion designer Zana Tsutakawa, left, DJ Maleko and photographer Russell Tanoue joined Sondra Barker at the Hanohano Room as RisquŽ, her new weekly party, premiered atop the Sheraton Waikiki on July 11. Designer Tsutakawa made the scene wearing a skirt from her line, Akane Clothing, and a top she described as a "one-night cut-up job."
