Hike Koke'e on Kauai

Summer guided hikes are being offered in Koke'e State Park on Kauai.

Space on the noon hikes is limited, so interested parties must call 808-335-9975 to reserve a place.

Trail choice depends on weather, and light rain gear recommended. Hikers are advised to eat lunch before the walks, and be prepared with protective clothing, hiking boots, drinking water and sunscreen.

Donations supporting the park's free youth programs are requested. The walks are:

» Today -- Berry Flats Trail

» July 24 -- Wainiua Trail

» July 25 -- Cliff Trail and Canyon Trail to Waipo'o Falls

» July 31 -- Pihea Trail

» Aug. 1 -- Cliff Trail and Canyon Trail to Waipo'o Falls

Winery marks 30 years

Preparations are under way at Tedeschi Vineyards for an Aug. 1 grand harvest festival to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Maui winery.

There will be demonstrations, tours, entertainment, and of course, food pairing and wine pairing events.
