The entire cast and crew of NBC's "Hawaii" gathered at Kawainui Park in Kailua at 6 a.m. Thursday for a Hawaiian and English blessing by Kahu Franklin Pao. Eurasian female lead Aya Sumika spent summers growing up on Maui with her dad, a Valley Isle resident. The exotic beauty is a lifelong dancer and wants to learn hula. Iron Chef Sakai goes for $7,200 at auction

Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai's "King of the Iron Chefs" auction item, a dinner for 10 prepared by Sakai at a home, went for $7,200, the highest bid for live auction items at the Black Tie & Blue Jeans event last Saturday night. The Waialae Country Club affair was a fund-raiser for the American Heart Association. Hawaii's Shobi Reynolds, assisted by her daughter Mie, represents Chef Sakai, Inc. Uke master Bruce Shima-bukuro & Friends entertain at tonight's "Joy of Food & Wine" extravaganza at the Hilton's Tapa Ballroom, a benefit for Rehab Hospital.
